TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that its group seafarer manning company Magsaysay MOL Marine, Inc. (Note) (MMM; Headquarters: Manila, the Philippines; President: Teodorico F. De Guzman) on November 8 held a long-service awards presentation ceremony for Filipino seafarers who work for MMM in Manila, and hosted a Family Day event on the following day. MOL Executive Vice President Hirofumi Kuwata and several MOL Group ship management companies attended both the awards presentation and Family Day.

Awards and recognition went to seafarers with 15 years of service aboard MOL-operated vessels, and a total of 70 award recipients and their families attended. Executive Vice President Hirofumi Kuwata thanked the award recipients for their daily contributions to the safe operation of MOL's vessels, and emphasized the need for and importance of skilled and competent seafarers as increasing opportunities in the future to operate LNG and other low-carbon fueled vessels, in its initiatives on addressing the sustainability issues set forth in the "BLUE ACTION 2035" management plan. The recipients commented, "The award is not only a personal achievement, but also a testament to the values MOL shares and our strength as a team, and we look forward to working together to overcome our challenges and achieve further growth."

The Family Day event is an annual event to express gratitude to the seafarers' families who support seafarers on a daily basis. We hold the event in various locations in the Philippines, the largest one in 2024 was held in Manila, with 3,227 seafarers and their families. Executive Vice President Hirofumi Kuwata expressed his sincere gratitude to the seafarers, their families, and MOL's partner Magsaysay, and told them that safe operation is the most important value within the MOL Group even in a rapidly changing business environment. He also requested their continued cooperation for the safe operation and training of new seafarers. One of the participating families commented, "I have not had many opportunities to learn how much the company values seafarers and their families, but this time I felt that they really do appreciate them. I look forward to next year's family reunion."

Through these programs, the MOL Group regularly conducts in the Philippines, and in other countries that are home to seafarers, it expresses its gratitude for the significant contributions of seafarers who work far away from their families, and their families as well, with the aim to achieve successful coexistence among everyone in the MOL Group and in the sustainable growth and development of communities, and the group will strive to foster a culture of safety while recruiting and developing highly skilled seafarers.
