TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that in cooperation with the nonprofit organization Team Kujira-go(Note 1), it held a marine debris survey event at the Fujimae tideland (Note 2) in Nagoya on Sunday, November 3. Along with experts from Team Kujira-go, event participants collected and surveyed marine plastic waste and other debris to gain a deeper appreciation of the need to preserve and protect the marine environment.
The event brought together the director of the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium who have worked with MOL in a study of the migration patterns of loggerhead turtles (Note 3), members of the ASAHI INTECC・LOVELEDGE NAGOYA women's soccer team(Note 4) co-sponsored by MOL and some local residents, 31 people (18 adults and 13 children). They presented the results of their experiments and their impressions throughout the event.
