TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL;President: Takeshi Hashimoto, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) is pleased to announce that Kae Kurahashi, a wheelchair rugby player belonging to MOL's Human Resources Department, has been awarded "Medal with Purple Ribbon" for her achievement in winning gold medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games for the first time.
The Medal with Purple Ribbon is a national award presented to individuals who have made outstanding achievements in academic research, sports, art, culture and other areas.

Kae Kurahashi was born in 1990 in Hyogo, Japan. She was injured in a trampoline accident when she was a university student, and after undergoing rehabilitation, she was introduced to wheelchair rugby. In 2016, she joined MOL and was assigned to the Human Capital Management Division. In 2017, she was selected as the first and only female member of the Japanese national wheelchair rugby team and helped them achieve 1st place in the World Championship in 2018 and a bronze medal in the 2021 Tokyo Paralympic Games. She went on to win a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
