MOL Charitable Trust Participates in the Completion Ceremony for Skill Development Program by NGO

On Monday, April 29, 2024, "Caritas Mauritius" (hereinafter called Caritas) (Note 1), a local NGO funded by the MOL Charitable Trust(the Trust )(Note 2), held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of a program aimed at helping residents gain essential life skills and prepare for employment. Mr. Kazuhiko Sugano, Managing Director of MOL (Mauritius) Ltd. who also serves as Chairperson of the Trust's Enforcers Committee, was on hand for the event.

Caritas was selected as one of the Trust's first grant recipients. Caritas serves unemployed persons in the island's southeastern region, particularly those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, helping promote employment through programs that help participants acquire basic lifestyle habits and skills such as confectionery and cooking.

The ceremony marked the completion of a program implemented from September to November 2023 based on strong demand from local residents in Mahébourg. The program is approved by the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA) (Note 3), and the training encompassed literacy, life skills, and French language courses. The completion ceremony was held at a church in Mahébourg to celebrate the 17 beneficiaries.

MOL will continue to provide support for education and skills acquisition in line with the needs of local communities through the Fund.
